Cookie Exchange Ideas

Hello cookie lovers! I’m going to be hosting a cookie exchange this year and am hoping to see all kind of delicious treats made by my girlfriends….can’t wait! From chocolate chip to italian wedding cookies…it’ll be a yum-o feast for sure.

Here are some ideas I came across for cookie packaging…this would be perfect for an exchange or a holiday gift to a neighbor, hostess gift, teacher, friend or anyone who loves some sweet stuff!

Lovebird Cookies

Thank you cookie goddess…Martha Stewart! For my Valentine Cookie Exchange,  I whipped up a batch of sugar cookies and made these Lovebird cookies I saw on a episode of The Martha Stewart Show. I fell head over heels for this owl-tastic tweet.
Honestly, I have tried Martha Stewart’s sugar cookie recipe and wasn’t a fan…my sister in-law told me about a recipe she found on Allrecipes.com and its the best I’ve ever used. In fact, my friends said that the cookies I made didn’t taste eggy and were still moist two weeks later!
I purchased the 5 inch owl cutter online from BostonMountain Cooper. I also used heart cookie cutters from Wilton to mix it up a bit. Baked and cooled the cookies, then made the royal icing according to the directions in various colors and used the squeeze bottles that I bought from CopperGifts. This made the process so much easier and faster to do. I don’t think I’ll ever use a piping bag again.
All of my friends love the look of cookies and they even tasted yummy.

Here are a few photos of them.
