Oh la la!

I am working on my travel scrapbook right now….composing layouts of all the trips I have taken with family and my husband into one luscious scrapbook. I love all the new embellishments out especially Je T’Adore collection from Making Memories. It was perfect, it captures the romanticism of Paris and the antique feeling of the city. Plus its pink so I was happy. I used the Je T’Adore Accoutrements, banners Amour and French Words 12×12 paper.   Burgundy ribbon was ruffled under the journaled piece and I cut my Eiffel Tower pic to the same shape of the Pink Paislee Flip Note I used. I took some pink scrap paper, punched it with EK Success Palm Leaf edge punch, and dabbed it with red ink to give it a weathered look.
I like to intermingle remnants of paper memories I saved from my travels into the layouts. As you can see, I used such the Louvre and Musee d’orsay entrance tickets on this page. Not only it is like having instant memorabilia for scrapbooking but saved pieces from trips are personal and evoke memories when you see them once again: I remember standing in the Orsay museum ticket line holding a bottle of water and admiring the stylish braided hairstyle of the Japanese tourist in front of me. It was hot in Paris that day, but once I got inside the museum I instantly felt cooled with culture. I loved that it was a railway station transformed into a art museum, their was something so organic about the architecture.
We stayed in a hotel that was walking distane to the Eiffel Tower…it was a small establishment but charming nevertheless. I loved our room because of the window with the iron planter hanging over the street. We saw the Eiffel Tower, Lourve, Notre Dame,  Arc de Triomphe, Champps-Elysees, boat tour of the Seine River but the third and last night was the best, we bought a baguette and a bottle of wine, sat in the park under the tower for hours…it was lovely.
